THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL BUT WE HAVE A WAITING LIST
Sam Jean, from the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens, will offer advice on how to use native plants in our gardens and in so doing give back space to nature. Amongst other topics, Sam will talk about his favourite native plant species, plant propagation techniques and invasive species.
Sam has gardened his whole life. He first learned about native plants while conducting botanical surveys and wetland delineation work in New Brunswick and Québec.
Sam currently works at the Irving Botanical Gardens which encompass six acres and consist of nine of Wapna’ki’s habitats as well as a Medicinal and Food Garden, Walled Garden, Herbaceous Border, Experimental Garden, and a public Conservatory. Together, these spaces embody the importance of conservation, the value of research, and the aesthetic possibilities of native plants.
The workshop is free but space is limited. PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST, PLEASE LET US KNOW BY EMAIL.
