This workshop, which is organized by the Harbourville Restoration Society, examines climate change issues from both a personal and community perspective. It is divided into two parts:
1. Part I: What is your carbon footprint?
Participants will be guided through a process to calculate their carbon footprint, using information on their yearly totals of electricity use, travel and other resources.
2. Part II: Group Discussion on Strategies to Address Climate Change
This discussion will focus on the North Mountain – its strengths as a community, micro-climate and specific environment. The idea is to develop specific, concrete actions to benefit this environment, its natural resources, and people.
As part of this discussion we will draw on the results of a seminar that was conducted two years ago to identify the North Mountain’s community needs and actions to meet those needs.
