Geoff will give a presentation on modern artificial intelligence, focusing on large language models (LLMs). He’ll provide a brief overview of AI’;s evolution, explain the basics of transformer architecture (don’t worry, there won’t be a test!), and give some live demonstrations of how anyone can use AI.

Geoff grew up in a farming community in Saskatchewan, went to university in Saskatoon and has worked mostly in the Life Sciences technology field in the US. For the last five years he has been developing AI solutions for the laboratory.
